Metrics are hard, especially in DevRel. How do you tie your work to the bottom line? A while ago I came across an article about Slack and how they measured PMF early on.

To measure how much traction they were getting, they asked their customers a single question:

Would you be disappointed if Slack disappeared?

It's a Yes/No question.

That's the secret sauce.

If developers are disappointed if you left the market, you have traction.

In short, you want to be missed.

Have a lovely day,

Aim to be missed
