Metrics are hard, especially in DevRel. How do you tie your work to the bottom line? A while ago I came across an article about Slack and how they measured PMF early on.
To measure how much traction they were getting, they asked their customers a single question:
Would you be disappointed if Slack disappeared?
It's a Yes/No question.
That's the secret sauce.
If developers are disappointed if you left the market, you have traction.
In short, you want to be missed.
